Tricuspid Valve Surgery

Dr Hugh Wolfenden Tricuspid Valve Surgery Featured ImageThe Tricuspid Valve is the inflow valve to the right ventricle, which allows blood to return from the body to be pumped to the lungs. It is occasionally damaged or stretched by other conditions, including chronic aortic and mitral valve disease, coronary artery disease, chronic atrial fibrillation, bacterial infections, as well as lung conditions and obstructive sleep apnea, to name just some of the more common causes. The Tricuspid valve can usually be repaired, and this is often done in combination with other cardiac surgeries, but also occasionally as an isolated procedure as well.
